Babylon Bombs, Gemini Five, Crucified Barbara and Hardcore Superstar (Växjöparken 27/02-09)

Last Friday Sleazemetal.dk arranged a concert trip, to GLAM SLAM in Växjö, with 4 of Swedens best sleaze/glam/street-metal bands.

When we made it to the last song, it was of course their biggest hit Hometown Hero. Yet again it was very clear that the audience wasn't only there to see the nights headliners Hardcore Superstar. About 98% of the concert hall sang along in the chorus to Hometown Hero, it was a perfect ending to Babylon Bombs concert!

The time was almost midnight and finally it was time for the nights headliners Hardcore Superstar who were ready to go on stage. They started with the title song from their upcoming cd Beg For It. It was another sign that there is no others that are better or comparable to Hardcore Superstar. The first time the audience heard that song, there was full throttle in front of the stage. Following came Medicate Me, Silence For The Peacefully and She's Offbeat before it was time for another song from Beg For It that will be coming out in June, a short time before they are playing with Motley Crüe in KB Hallen in Copenhagen. And again it was an awesome song that caught on right away. This shows that Hardcore Superstar is again coming with a super cd that will probably score a clean 10.

Now it was time for their title song from their newest cd Dreamin' In A Casket and the awesome song Hateful that was then followed again by a song from the new coming cd. After that came their biggest hit Wild Boys and Liberation from their debut album from 2000 Bad Sneakers and Pinã Colada...Now the hall was rockin'. Everyone sang so loud that it almost muted the band and the bar was almost empty at this point, everyone was partying with the band. That was a revolution itself because the Swedish crowd is usually quite "thirsty".

Now it was time for a guest...the drummer Eric Young from Crashdiet. He took over the drums for Bag on your Head with big success. Maybe Magnus "ADDE" Andreasson should be looking out, because it was not the first time Eric took over the drums for that song. It's happened ie. last year at a concert in Liseberg in Goteborg. Adde took over the drums again for the last song Kick on The Upperclass. But this was by no means the very last song...because unlike the other bands Hardcore Superstar came back on stage and played an extra 3 songs...Need No Company, We Don't Celebrate Sundays and No Resistance.

The problem with Hardcore Superstar live, is that their 2 newest releases are filled with one awesome song after the other and you can always be left with a feeling of missing something because they can't possible play 25-30 songs with every show, even though we'd love it. Easily said Hardcore Superstar gave another great great show and we can only hope that they take a long Swedish tour, now that their In Flames tour in Great Britain has been cancelled.

The next Hardcore Superstar concert is the 12th. of march in London with Tigertailz as support.
